David A. Ainsworth

Chief Technical Officer at Oxis Energy

Since joining OXIS Energy as a Research Scientist in 2009, David has held a number of roles within the technical team including being responsible for the safety and performance testing of OXIS Energy’s Li-S cell technology.

In 2005 he graduated with an M.Chem degree in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews. During his degree he completed a 12 month placement at Infinium Ltd working to develop new jet fuel additives before returning to university to complete a research project on new materials for Lithium-Ion batteries. He then continued this research as a post graduate, completing a PhD in 2009 entitled “Crystalline Polymer and Small Molecule Electrolytes” in the research group of Prof Peter Bruce.

David took up the role of CTO at Oxis Energy in January 2013 and is responsible for managing the R&D team, and developing OXIS Energy’s Li-S Technology into commercial products.
