Andrew McDavid

Principal Research Scientist at Ozette Technologies

Andrew McDavid has worked in a variety of roles in the field of research and data science. From 2022 to present, they have served as Principal Research Scientist at Ozette Technologies. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Data Science Intern at Human Longevity, Inc., where they quantified genotyping error for ultra-rare single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) using a Bayesian latent variable model. From 2007 to 2016, they were employed at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where they served as Adjunct Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor. From 2006 to 2007, they worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where they served as a Research Assistant and Systems Analyst. During this period, they developed methods for single cell gene expression experiments and designed and analyzed genome-wide association studies. From 2007 to 2015, they also worked at REI as a Customer Service Specialist.

Andrew McDavid obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Pomona College in 2006. Andrew then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics at the University of Washington, which they completed in 2016.
