Maria Claire Markusen

Maria Claire Markusen has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Maria Claire began their career in 1999 as President & CFO of Welcome to Our Home, a senior living community, where they led the development of the first-of-its-kind senior living community in an underserved small town. Maria Claire then joined Sunrise Senior Living in 2001 as a Cluster Manager & Executive Director Mentor, where they led a strategy to improve patient quality of care, grow the referral network, and double residency. In 2004, Maria Claire became Chief Operating Officer and Partner of Simply Retail Inc., where they launched the healthcare industry's first one-stop-shop for patients, transforming healthcare retail operations into profit centers. In 2010, Maria Claire joined Enlivant (formerly Assisted Living Concepts) as Division VP of Sales & Marketing, where they repaired the company's reputation following a flurry of negative media attention. In 2013, Maria Claire joined The VGM Group as COO/Founder/Director of Development, where they led the brand relaunch of Simply Shops, a go-to-market strategy, and provided operations leadership. In 2017, Maria Claire became President & Board Member of Pacha Soap Co., an ethically sourced, all-natural soaps and bath products company. Maria Claire took the reins when the pandemic hit and scaled the company's operations in record time, doubling its size to accommodate unprecedented demand and growth. In 2020, Maria Claire was recruited by Encounter Telehealth, LLC as Interim Chief Operations Officer, where they set the company on the path to next-level success amidst pandemic-era challenges.

Maria Claire Markusen graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and minors in French and Literature.
