Amado Villegas Jr. has a solid work experience in the scientific research field. Amado is currently working at Pacific BioLabs, Inc. as a Research Assistant II. Prior to that, they spent a significant amount of time at the University of California, Berkeley, where they worked as a Senior Animal Technician. In this role, they were responsible for the care and maintenance of various laboratory animals, including mice, rats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, nonhuman primates, as well as aquatic species and cold-blooded animals. Before their time at UC Berkeley, Amado worked at Calyx Therapeutics as a Research Associate I. There, they supported research efforts by assisting with experimental procedures, clinical observations, data entry, animal dosing, tissue and blood collection, as well as general husbandry tasks.
Amado Villegas Jr. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry from Central Luzón State University in 1991. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained certifications including Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT/RALAT) from AALAS, completed the LATG Class in 2016 at the University of California, Berkeley, and attended the NCB-AALAS symposium from 2002 to 2018.
