Mougang Hu has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of pharmaceutical development and analytical sciences. Starting in 1997, they worked as an Analytical Research Specialist at Merck Group until 2002. Mougang then joined Patheon as a Sr. Research Scientist, where they focused on analytical development and quality control for a range of projects. In 2006, Mougang became the Associate Director of Analytical Development and CMC at InterMune Inc, where they developed and validated analytical procedures for innovative therapies. Mougang joined AMRI (Albany Molecular Research Inc.) in 2015 as the Director of Analytical and Microbiology, overseeing labs and managing analytical development and quality control for a wide range of pharmaceutical products. Prior to their current role, they were the VP of Pharmaceutical Development at XW Labs, where they served as the CMC Head and managed various aspects of drug development and manufacturing. Currently, Mougang holds the position of Sr. Director of Analytical Sciences at Pacific BioLabs, Inc., where they continue to utilize their expertise in managing analytical research and development.
Mougang Hu pursued their education in the field of chemistry, specializing in synthetic organic chemistry. In 1991, they enrolled at York University and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry in 1995. Following the completion of their doctoral degree, Mougang joined McMaster University as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Organic Synthesis from 1996 to 1997.
