Michael Paumen is an experienced professional in the fields of molecular diagnostics and genomic medicine, currently serving as the Head of Japan at Pacific Biosciences since May 2021. Prior roles include Head of the Genetic Testing Business for the Asia-Pacific region at KONICA MINOLTA and CEO of Clearbridge BioMedics Pte Ltd. With a strong background in next-generation sequencing and medical sciences, Michael held senior positions at Life Technologies and Dx Assays Pte Ltd, alongside notable experience at Affymetrix and QIAGEN in various scientific capacities. Educational credentials include a PhD in Molecular Biology from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, complemented by early academic work at dkfz - German Cancer Research Center and Kyoto University, focusing on immunology and developmental biology.
