Lauren Byars

Lauren Byars was named vice president of supply chain and procurement in July 2019, responsible for overseeing company-wide procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier performance, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and travel to ensure a competitive cost structure and optimal supplier relationships that drive sustained growth and increased profitability.

Prior to joining Pacific Drilling, Byars served as an advisor for Wanhua Chemicals from April 2017 to July 2019 in support of key commercial strategies and negotiations for its $1.25 billion chemical complex investment in the US.

Byars has 20-plus years of industry experience with an extensive background in operational support including global supply chain, IT, maintenance systems, construction, compliance and corporate strategy. Byars served at Scorpion Offshore as director of supply chain, IT and compliance until its acquisition by Seadrill. Byars spent 19 years with Pride International / Marine Drilling, where she held a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities; her latest as the senior director of global supply chain.

Byars holds a Bachelor of Administration degree in Operations Management with a minor in Accounting from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University.
