Sophie Tichelaar

Sophie Tichelaar has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare and software development. In their most recent position as a Front-end Engineer at Pacmed, they program the decision-support software for ICU intensivists using VueJs. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Consultant at Heart for Health where they liaised between healthcare providers and developers, mapping care processes and specifying product requirements. Sophie also had an internship at Voeding Leeft, where they investigated the effects of lifestyle on diseases and developed a lifestyle intervention program for patients with psoriasis. Additionally, they conducted research as a biomedical researcher at UMCG University Medical Center Groningen, focusing on lifestyle medicine in obesity and diabetes. Sophie has also worked as a teaching assistant in biomathematics and biostatistics, as well as brains and behavior at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Sophie was involved in the Research & Development Committee of the International Student Congress of (bio)Medical Sciences (ISCOMS), which aimed to familiarize medical students with research.

Sophie Tichelaar has a diverse education history. Sophie attended the University of Groningen from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Life Science & Technology. In 2015, they briefly studied at the University of Navarra, focusing on MSc courses in Pharmacy, Medicine, and Nutrition.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Sophie pursued further education at the University of Groningen. From 2017 to 2019, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences.

In 2020, Sophie enrolled in Ironhack, where they joined the Full-Stack Web Developer Program. Sophie completed the program later that same year.

Additionally, Sophie obtained a certification in Web Development Bootcamp from Ironhack in October 2020.
