In 2002, they worked as a Network Administrator at Wild West Inc, where they successfully revamped the network infrastructure and built their website. Jay then joined MSN Technical Support as a Technical Support Engineer, where they quickly rose through the ranks but left to focus on their programming work.

In 2003, they worked as a Web Developer at Ward Office for two years. Jay then joined Bluehost as a Developer in 2006, where they quickly progressed through the ranks due to their technical abilities. In 2007, they worked as a Senior Developer at Wild West Inc, where they were responsible for software design, debugging, IT strategy, and technical architecture.

From 2007 to 2013, they served as an Enterprise Architect at High Speed Web, enabling the company to handle spam-related challenges. In 2014, they joined Paladin & Archer as an IT/Software Architect and Managing Consultant. Their responsibilities include devising IT strategies, designing architectures, and developing systems for various companies. Jay has expertise in various technologies, including FHIR, CDA, HL7, Docker, Oracle DBA, Intersystems Caché, MongoDB, and automated testing frameworks. Jay is also skilled in frontend frameworks and automated builds and deployments. Jay is experienced in using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, and CircleCI, and has worked with Kubernetes on AWS with ECR and Fargate.

Jay Ward attended Neumont College of Computer Science from 2005 to 2007, where they studied Computer Software Engineering. These include Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified SAFe® 5 Agile Product Manager, Certified SAFe® 5 DevOps Practitioner, and Certified SAFe® 4 DevOps Practitioner. The certifications were obtained between 2019 and 2020.
