Priyanka Dhingra has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of bioinformatics and research. Priyanka is currently working as a Principal Scientist Bioinformatics at Palatin Technologies since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Envisagenics from 2017 to 2021, where they held the positions of Director of Bioinformatics & Strategic Innovation from January 2018 to April 2021, and Bioinformatics Scientist from August 2017 to December 2017.
Before joining Envisagenics, Priyanka worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Weill Cornell Medicine from December 2014 to July 2017. During their time there, they conducted research on genomics and epigenomics data to identify regulatory drivers of prostate cancer. Priyanka was also actively involved in functional annotation and driver analysis groups of Pan-Cancer Whole-Genome Sequencing consortium by ICGC and TCGA.
Prior to their postdoctoral position, Priyanka served as a Visiting Faculty at the Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, Central University, New Delhi, India in 2014. Priyanka also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from April 2014 to November 2014, where they developed software for predicting protein tertiary structure. During their time there, they led a team of researchers and won a CASP10 fellowship in the global protein structure prediction competition.
Additionally, Priyanka worked as a Guest Faculty at Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences For Women in 2014, where they taught Bioinformatics to B.Sc. Biomedical Science students. Priyanka also completed their Bachelor's degree from the same institution from 2002 to 2005.
Throughout their career, Priyanka has received several awards and has published research articles in reputable scientific journals.
Priyanka Dhingra earned their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Instrumentation from Codingthunder between the years 2002 and 2005. Priyanka further pursued their education at Banasthali Vidyapith from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics. Later, they enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi from 2008 to 2014 and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) specializing in Computational Biology. In addition to their formal degrees, Priyanka Dhingra also obtained a certification in Python Basics from Coursera in August 2021.
