Scientist In Analytical And Formulation Development at Palleon Pharmaceuticals

Ankarao Kalluri has worked in a range of research and development roles in the pharmaceutical and biomedical engineering fields. From 2013 to 2018, they were a Project Assistant in Medicinal Chemistry at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, where they designed and synthesized DPP-IV inhibitors as anti-hyperglycemic agents and analyzed and characterized organic samples. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Research Assistant in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bridgeport, where they synthesized GQDs and fabricated electrospun PCL and graphene/GQDs scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Research Associate at Sanofi-Genzyme and a Graduate Research Assistant/PhD Scholar at the University of Connecticut, where they improved enzyme activity rate, designed and synthesized protein-nanomaterials hydrogels and sponges, engineered protein-RNA nanoparticles for gene delivery and silencing in plants, and designed and synthesized GQDs and protein fluorescent nanoprobes.

Ankarao Kalluri began their educational journey in 2008 when they obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) from Andhra University in the fields of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutics, and Drug Delivery Systems. In 2012, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Medicinal Chemistry (Pharmacy) from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research. Ankarao then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport, which they completed in 2017. Currently, Ankarao is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from the University of Connecticut in the Department of Material Science and Chemistry. Additionally, Ankarao is a Registered Pharmacist.
