Michael Kemp, PhD

Michael Kemp, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of structural biology and research. Michael is currently working as a Structural Biologist at Palleon Pharmaceuticals since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of South Florida where they served as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant from 2016 to 2022, focusing on the analysis of carbapenemase substrate evolution activity and antibiotic resistance within \u03b2-lactamase serine hydrolase enzymes. Additionally, they also worked as a Research Assistant Graduate Student at the same university from 2016 to 2021. In 2019, Michael also completed an Orise Fellowship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where they trained in acclimating bacteria to produce perdeuterated proteins for neutron diffraction studies. Furthermore, they have experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of South Florida from 2013 to 2016.

Michael Kemp, PhD has a strong educational background in the field of medical sciences. Michael first pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from the University of South Florida in 2013. Following that, they completed two Master of Science (MS) degrees, one in Computational Chemistry in 2016 and another in Medical Science in 2018, both from the same institution. Building upon their previous accomplishments, Michael further continued their education at the University of South Florida, where they are currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medical Sciences, which they started in 2021.
