Robert van Bentum is a highly experienced professional in water services and infrastructure management. Currently serving as the Chief Advisor for Water Services at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand since March 2022, Robert has also held key roles at the Palmerston North City Council as Transport and Infrastructure Manager and Water and Waste Manager since November 2015. Prior experience includes positions as Team Leader and Office Manager at MWH, now part of Stantec, from October 2009 to October 2015, and Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer at Whanganui District Council in 2009. Robert's career began at VSA as Asia Programme Manager from January 1997 to April 2001, following a solid educational background with a Master of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University and a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Massey University.
