Michael Schmidt

Michael Schmidt has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael is currently working as a Sales Engineer at Panorays, a position they started in July 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Akamai Technologies, including Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer, Cloud Security Architect, Principal Solutions Engineer, and Senior Technical Project Manager/Professional Services. Michael joined Akamai Technologies in 2005 and left in 2023.

Before joining Akamai Technologies, Michael worked as a Contract Developer for various companies from 2003 to 2005, where they provided expertise in application architecture and full life cycle development process.

Additionally, they worked as a Technical Architect at Xpedior from 1996 to 2002.

In the early years of their career, Michael worked in the financial industry, specifically in Consultant Relations roles at Paribas Asset Management, Palley Needleman Asset Management, and Putnam Investments. Michael also worked as a Financial Analyst at SEI from 1991 to 1993.

Michael Schmidt attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In 1987 to 1988, they also participated in a Study Abroad Program at the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth, although the field of study is not specified. In terms of certifications, Michael Schmidt obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from the Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)² in December 2013. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council in June 2015.
