Dean Prim has extensive work experience in various technical roles. Dean began their career as a Field Service Engineer at Instron, where they performed preventative maintenance, system installation, customer training, and troubleshooting of testing machines. Dean then worked as an Assistant Loss Control Manager at Kmart Corporation, overseeing theft detection and investigation. Dean then served in the US Navy for 25 years as a Gunner's Mate Chief Petty Officer, leading maintenance, training, and safety programs for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. After leaving the Navy, they joined Defiance Testing and Engineering as a Senior Technician II, responsible for advanced testing and data documentation. Dean continued their career at Link Engineering Company as a Service Technician before joining Exova Group plc as a Senior Technician - II. At Element Materials Technology, they worked as a Senior Technician and most recently, they are employed as a Servo Manager at Paragon Technologies, Inc.

Dean Prim completed their Associate of Science (AS) degree in Pre-Engineering at Henry Ford Community College in 2013. Dean then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Wayne State University from 2015 to 2022. Following this, they continued their education at Wayne State University to earn a Masters of Science in Engineering Technology with a focus on Mechanical Engineering Related Technologies/Technicians from 2022 to 2024.
