Ben Davis, Ph.D. has an extensive work experience in the finance industry. Ben is currently employed at Parametric as the Managing Director of Research since June 2019. Prior to this, they were an Associate Editor at the Journal of Beta Investment Strategies starting from May 2021.
From 2017 to 2019, Ben worked at AQR Capital Management as the Managing Director of Firm-Wide Risk Research. In this role, they led a team of Ph.D. researchers responsible for risk analysis across all asset classes.
Before joining AQR, Ben had a noncompete period from May 2016 to January 2017.
Ben also worked as an Equity Quantitative Researcher at Citadel LLC from 2013 to 2016.
Ben's earlier experiences include being a Vice President at MSCI Inc. (MSCI Barra) from 2008 to 2012, a Mathematics Professor at Saint Mary's College of California from 2003 to 2008, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Penn State University from 2001 to 2003.
Ben Davis, Ph.D. attended Reed College from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley from 1995 to 2001.
