Job description

As a Scrum Product Owner, you will be the key stakeholder of our project teams. Your main tasks will include creating detailed product descriptions, liaising with the Scrum Master, managing the product backlog, and ensuring that the team is working on the most valuable features. Your role is crucial for our business as you'll translate the vision of the product into workable tasks for software development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining and prioritizing the product backlog, creating actionable user stories for the development teams

  • Collaborating with stakeholders (internal and external) to understand their needs and translate these into a product vision and backlog

  • Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize user stories, epics, and themes to ensure the team is working on the most valuable features

  • Serve as the customer proxy for the team and work with Product Management and other stakeholders—including other Product Owners—to define and prioritize stories in the team backlog

  • Lead the planning of product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities

  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals

  • Maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation

  • Work with project stakeholders to validate their requirements and analysis model via techniques such as reviews, walkthroughs of the product backlog

  • Participate in team demo and retrospective to provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, or similar role in product management

  • Familiar with the software development life cycle

  • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle

  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification is a plus

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban
