Willy Borsus currently serves as Président at the Parlement de Wallonie since July 2024. Previously, Willy Borsus was Ministre in the Gouvernement wallon from July 2017 to July 2024, overseeing multiple portfolios including the Economy, Foreign Trade, Research and Innovation, Digital Affairs, Land Use Planning, Agriculture, and the IFAPME. Before this role, Willy Borsus held the position of Ministre fédéral in the Belgian federal government from October 2014 to July 2017, managing affairs related to the middle classes, small and medium-sized enterprises, agriculture, and social integration, along with responsibilities for the railway system. Willy Borsus's earlier experience includes serving as Député for the Région wallonne and Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Bourgmestre of Somme-Leuze, and holding various positions within governmental and non-governmental organizations, including a role as Secrétaire général for an international youth NGO. Willy Borsus holds a Graduat en sciences juridiques, Droit, and has completed further training in European social law.
