Alex Koriath

Research Associate II at Parse Biosciences

Alex Koriath has five years of work experience. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at the Vashon Recess Lab as a Cashier and Customer Assistance. From 2018 to 2019, they were an Undergraduate Researcher in the Nemhauser Lab at the University of Washington Biology, where they completed synthetic biology research involving cloning and use of CRISPR/Cas9 method to create gene knockout strains of A. thaliana, yeast and E. coli in both supervised and self-directed projects. Alex also presented their work quarterly in lab meetings and at the 2019 UW Undergraduate Research Symposium, and taught middle school students about plant evolution, resource use and gene function as part of the Burke Museum's Girls in Science program. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Researcher in the Gao Lab and Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington Bioengineering, and from 2021 to 2022, they were an Industry Research Intern at DOTQUANT LLC. Currently, they are a Research Associate at Parse Biosciences.

Alex Koriath graduated from Vashon Island High School in 2017 with a High School Diploma. Alex then attended the University of Washington, graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering.
