Yuk Cheong Poon

Yuk Cheong Poon has over 19 years of work experience. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as a Software Engineer at CityCom Technology Ltd., where they were involved in R&D for wireless home automation applications and technologies. From 2004 to 2006, they worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Hong Kong, where they researched for 3G PDA phone reference design using embedded Linux and Qt. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Shanghai Huahong (Group) CO., LTD, where they set up the Shenzhen office and built the software team. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Sun Cupid Technology (H.K.) Ltd. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as a Chief Software Engineer and Co-Founder at Red Bear Company Limited, where they were responsible for setting up the company targets IoT solution development, Bluetooth 4.0 LE software development, WiFi software development, Arduino compatible board software development, and managing open source projects using GitHub. From 2011 to 2017, they also worked as a Research Associate at The University of Hong Kong, where they researched for indoor location positioning using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE technologies. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been working as a Lead Engineer (Embedded Hardware) at Particle.

Yuk Cheong Poon attended Staffordshire University from 2002 to 2004, where they earned a BSc in Computing Science. Yuk Cheong then attended The University of Hong Kong from 2007 to 2009, where they earned an MSc in Computer Science.
