Morten Ø. Andersen

Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor at Particle3D

Morten Ø. Andersen has a diverse work experience. Morten began their career as a PhD student at the University of Aarhus in 2005, where they did research on biopharmaceuticals and drug delivery nanoparticles for cancer, inflammation and regenerative medicine. In 2009, they were a Visiting Scholar at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where they developed DNA vaccine nanoparticles. Morten then moved to the Teknologisk Institut in 2012, where they did research on biofuels, polymer characterization, polymer modification and chemical catalysis. In 2014, they became an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, where they established and led a research laboratory and a research group focused on biomaterials and biotechnology. In 2018, they were a Visiting Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia, where they worked on applying 3D printing and controlled release biomaterials to microbial ecology, microbial discovery and fertilizer applications. In 2017, they co-founded Ossiform (formerly Particle3D), a prize-winning medical device startup that makes 3D printed bone. Most recently, in 2021, they became the CEO and co-founder of Bioomix, a bioindustrial company that develops microbial products for the agri/food sector.

Morten Ø. Andersen attended Aarhus University from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a BSc in Molecular Biology and Chemistry. In 2004, they went on a semester abroad at The University of Manchester, studying Life Sciences. Morten then returned to Aarhus University, where they earned their PhD in Molecular Biology and Nanoscience in 2009.
