Jordan LaPier works to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of federal employees through the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals program. Hailing from a family of public servants at the local and federal levels, he has seen firsthand the impact of service to community and country. He has spent his career in nonprofits, most recently as associate director of media relations at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where he worked with leading experts on a range of key policy issues, including government reform. Other than his wife, Jordan’s favorite public servant is Adlai Stevenson II, a hero in his hometown of Bloomington, Ill., who represented America to the world as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under President John F. Kennedy.
