Jazmin Novoa's work experience includes the following:
- Partnership with Children: Served as a Community School Director, responsible for overseeing the budget, implementing data-driven interventions, and engaging the school community to support student achievement. Also served as a key member on the school's attendance team and supervised the Family Outreach Coordinator.
- Family and Children's Association: Worked as a Bilingual Supervising Social Worker, responsible for supervising case managers and MSW interns, as well as managing a caseload of Spanish-speaking families. Also trained new employees on Department of Social Services intake procedures.
- YES Community Counseling Center: Held the role of Bilingual Outpatient Mental Health Social Worker, completing intakes for clients, conducting individual and family sessions, and facilitating girls' self-esteem groups.
- Elmhurst Hospital: Worked as an Inpatient OBGYN Social Worker, providing psychosocial assessments for families, individual, group, and family counseling, and initiating a grant to provide essential items for financially disadvantaged families.
Jazmin Novoa obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sacred Heart University. Jazmin then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University from 2000 to 2003.
