Araz Ashouri

Araz Ashouri has a diverse range of work experience in both academic and industry settings. Araz began their career as an intern at ABB in 2010 before moving on to pursue their doctoral research at ETH Zurich. After completing their doctoral research in 2014, they worked as a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL. In 2016, they joined N-SIDE as a consultant for one year. Araz then transitioned to a research role at the National Research Council Canada, first as a research associate and later as a research officer. Araz held these positions until 2023, during which time they also served as an adjunct professor at Carleton University. Currently, they are working at PassiveLogic, where they are involved in autonomous systems control and validation.

Araz Ashouri completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in the years 2003 to 2008. Araz then pursued further education and obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Control Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology between 2008 and 2010. Araz Ashouri continued their academic journey and completed their Doctor of Sciences (Ph.D.) degree in Energy Optimization from ETH Zürich, with the culmination of their studies in 2014.
