Roneisha Ward, RHIA

Roneisha Ward, RHIA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Roneisha began their career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at CarolinaEast Health System in 2007 and later joined the US Army as a Human Resources Specialist, where they managed personnel, medical, and dental records. After that, they worked at CenturyLink as a Consumer Solution Specialist, handling customer calls and troubleshooting services.

In 2009, Roneisha moved on to Strafford as a Data Analyst, responsible for verifying and correcting data in an Access database. Roneisha then joined CarolinaEast Health System again as a Patient Registration Counselor, where they ensured accurate patient information and verified insurance coverage.

Roneisha worked at Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. from 2013 to 2019 in various roles. As a Health Information Technology Specialist, they trained staff on the electronic health record system and managed upgrades. Roneisha later became the Compliance & Quality Manager, coordinating training and troubleshooting EMR issues. Finally, they served as the Director of Health Information Management, overseeing the electronic health record system and developing policies.

From 2018 to 2021, Roneisha worked at Vidant Health as a Patient Access Representative, handling patient registration, pre-certifications, and insurance benefits counseling. Roneisha then joined BHS Connect as a Release of Information Specialist Contractor, managing requests for patient health information and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

In 2019 and 2020, Roneisha also worked as a Curriculum Design Consultant - SME on a contract basis. Currently, they hold the position of Sr. Customer Experience Specialist at Patagonia Health.

Throughout their career, Roneisha has gained experience in customer service, data analysis, health information management, and electronic health record systems. Roneisha is knowledgeable about HIPAA regulations and proficient in various EHR platforms such as Cerner, Centricity, Epic, and NextGen.

Roneisha Ward, RHIA has a strong educational background in health information management and systems. Roneisha obtained their Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician from Pitt Community College in 2010. Building on this foundation, Roneisha went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Information Management from DeVry University-Morrisville, NC, graduating in 2013. In 2015, they further pursued their education by completing a Master of Information Systems Management degree with a focus on Health Information Systems Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.

In addition to their academic achievements, Roneisha has obtained two important certifications. Roneisha attained the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential from AHIMA in December 2018. Furthermore, they completed a certification in Ethical Leadership from The College of St. Scholastica in April 2019. Roneisha's commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident in their education history and certifications.
