Project Specialist, Healthcare Delivery And Disparities Research at Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute

Nia Coke's work experience begins in 2017 as a Choreographic Assistant at The Joffrey Ballet, where they contributed to dance performances and advised wellness initiatives in underserved communities. In 2018, they worked as an Assistant Manager at Straight From The Go, implementing marketing strategies to increase revenue and supporting charitable causes.

From 2019 to 2020, Nia served as a Community Health Intern at Advocate Aurora Health, facilitating diabetic education and outreach, conducting surveys on social determinants of health disparities, and producing reports for the Medical Advisory Council. In 2020, they worked as a Marketing Project Coordinator at WARE Collective, where they developed marketing campaigns and coordinated student art projects for a Virtual Arts and Heritage Summer Camp.

In 2021, Nia joined Advocate Aurora Health again as a Patient Access Representative in the Oncology Department, implementing software systems and analyzing outreach strategies to increase breast cancer screenings.

Most recently, in 2022, they have started working as a Project Specialist in Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Nia Coke attended Oak Park & River Forest High School from 2013 to 2017. After completing high school, they went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Columbia College, Columbia University from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, Nia participated in a study abroad program at UCL, where they studied Biological Sciences and the Institute of Global Health.
