Kelly Brumby

Kelly Brumby is the current director of manufacturing at Pattern Bioscience. Kelly has over three years of experience in engineering and management, and has been with Pattern Bioscience for just over two years. Prior to their current position, they were with OriGen Biomedical for four years, where they served as the engineering group manager. In this role, they were responsible for transitioning production from batch manufacturing to single-piece flow, improving the production capacity. This included cleanroom layout changes, training of personnel, 3 months of OTJ training for line leads on line balancing, and continued accountability. Additionally, they established data trends for monthly production efficiency in a paper-based system and implemented and managed daily tracking of production goals. Kelly also drove CAPA accountability by example and reduced open CAPA backlog from 137 to 73 active CAPAs within a year while transitioning the CAPA management back to quality. Furthermore, they established effective metrics and review meetings for production quality NCRs, reworks, and deviations. As a result of their efforts, the average number of days deviations were active decreased by 20% and the average number of days to close NCRs decreased by 50%. Kelly also achieved a 60% close to open ratio for NCRs. In addition to their engineering responsibilities, Kelly also coached engineers to complete 4 of 8 product family DHF remediations and independently managed the implementation of a new clamshell packaging design. Kelly manages a team of design engineers, process engineering manager (4 direct reports), and process engineers. Kelly performs performance appraisals and establishes individual objectives and goals. Kelly Brumby has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology/Plant Production Systems from Texas State University and a Project Management Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin. Kelly also has experience in Computer Aided Drafting and Design from Tri-State University.
