Martin Brettenthaler

Martin Brettenthaler (SUI/AUT) (born in 1970) worked for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for several years in Munich and Paris after completing his studies in economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris. From 2000 to 2004 he was a member of group management at HIAG Group and as COO successfully led seven businesses (insulating materials, wholesale trade, doors, and pallets) through an intensive restructuring and turnaround phase. Since 2001 he has been CEO and delegate of the board of Pavatex, which he acquired together with partners in a management buy-out in 2004-07. Martin Brettenthaler is a member of the board of the international environmental organization nature plus e.V. in Germany, whose goal is sustainable development in the building sector, and of swisscleantech, a business organization in Switzerland. He is also a member of the board of the European Panel Federation (EPF) in Brussels and is the chairman of the German association of producers of wood fiber insulation. He is married and has two children and lives in Basel.
