Elena Burke is an experienced professional with a diverse background in animal welfare, education, and leadership. Currently serving as the Volunteer Program Coordinator at PAWS Chicago since May 2023, Elena previously founded Sgt. Puppers Lonely Dog Rescue, where specialized training for difficult dogs was a focus. Elena has also worked as a Snowboard Instructor with Vail Resorts and held a Team Leader position at HH North, where revenue strategies and employee training were key responsibilities. Furthermore, Elena contributed as a Service Dog Trainer and Grant Writer at Paws & Badges, implementing advanced training for service dogs and securing grants. Elena's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where research work with esteemed botanists was undertaken.
