Maik Schaefer

Maik Schaefer has a diverse work experience. Maik is currently the Director of Product Management at PayJoy since November 2023. From February 2022 to November 2023, they worked as a Senior Product Manager at Amazon. Prior to that, from January 2018 to February 2022, they were the Co-Founder & CEO of Mango Life. From July 2020 to January 2022, they served as the Project Director "Agro-Fintech" at the Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation Latin America and Caribbean. Maik was also the Co-Founder & Non-Executive Board Member of Plan Guau from January 2020 to January 2022. Maik Schaefer played a key role as Co-Founder & General Secretary at Asociación InsurTech México from October 2019 to January 2022. Maik was also involved in founding and advising flotify from January 2019 to January 2022. From 2018 to 2022, they worked independently as an Advisor, Author, and Conference Speaker. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at HDI Group from 2012 to 2017, including Chief Innovation Officer and Manager Best Practice Lab. Maik also worked as the Regional Manager International Business Asia-Pacific/Americas at ERGO Group AG from January 2011 to March 2012.

Maik Schaefer completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, International Business, and Global Politics from Bond University in 2010. Prior to this, they graduated from the Bundeswehr University Munich in 2009 with a Diplom-Kaufmann (Univ.) degree in International Management, Insurance, and Statistics. Before their university studies, they attended BWV Muenchen (Vocational school) from 2005 to 2007, where they completed an apprenticeship as a Versicherungskaufmann (Insurance Salesperson) in the field of Insurance, specializing in Life and Non-Life insurance.
