Jonathan Tash

Jonathan Tash has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Jonathan is currently working as an Engineer at PayRange since February 2021. Prior to this, Jonathan spent a significant portion of their career at Kollective Technology, where they held the position of Distinguished Engineer from the time of joining in 2001 until February 2021. At Kollective, they had principal responsibility for designing and implementing the company's core technology, which is a leading system for delivering video on demand, live streams, and other data to enterprise desktops with minimal network bandwidth impact.

Jonathan also worked at VeriSign from 2006 to 2008 as a Senior Engineer during which time Kollective was part of VeriSign. Jonathan received the first annual VeriSign CTO Technical Excellence Award in this role. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Temboo, Inc. in 2006-2007.

Jonathan's work experience also includes founding LandSonar, Inc. in 2002 and serving as its Founder until 2005. Jonathan was involved in algorithm design at Geocast from 1998 to 2001, where they designed and implemented error correction coding, scheduler, cache management system, and co-designed transport protocol and hardware digital signal processing algorithms.

Earlier in their career, Jonathan worked as an Artificial Intelligence Consultant at PersonalGenie in 1999-2000, where they designed algorithms for consumer-product matching and learning user preferences. Jonathan was also a Senior Research Scientist in the Adaptive Systems Group at Harlequin from 1995 to 1998. In this role, they worked on various projects, including designing an adaptive online scheduler for parallel processing, visualization tool for large databases, tool for extracting information from structured text, and special effects processing component using geometric perspective.

Jonathan Tash's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics and Mathematics from Caltech, obtained between 1983 and 1986. Jonathan then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Physics at UC Santa Barbara from 1986 to 1988. Following this, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Logic & Methodology of Science between 1988 and 1996.
