Alexandra Marques

Alexandra Marques is a Senior Researcher at PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving, specializing in biodiversity modeling, footprint analysis, and ecosystem services modeling since November 2020. Previously, Alexandra served as a Scientific Officer at the European Commission's DG JRC, focusing on biodiversity and ecosystem services impacts in Life Cycle Assessment. Alexandra's experience also includes leading the IPBES Regional Assessment for Europe and Central Asia at the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and working as an Assistant Professor at Leiden University, concentrating on the environmental impacts of economic activities. Further research roles include postdoctoral positions at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research and the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Alexandra holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from Instituto Superior Técnico, a Master's in International Management from Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, and a degree in Applied Plant Biology from the University of Lisbon.
