Edwin Van der Werf is a seasoned economist with extensive expertise in environmental policy and climate economics. Currently serving as a member of the scientific staff at PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency since October 2022, Van der Werf employs applied economic principles for the assessment of environmental policies. Prior to this role, Van der Werf worked at Wageningen University & Research as an assistant/associate professor, focusing on climate change and forestry economics, while also instructing students at various academic levels. Previous positions also include economist at PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oldenburg, research economist at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, and policy economist at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. Van der Werf holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Tilburg University, along with an M.Sc. from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a diploma in economic policy.
