Mariësse van Sluisveld is a researcher specializing in energy and resources, currently engaged at PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving since March 2021, focusing on circular economy policy assessment and sustainability research in the EU CASRI project. Prior experience includes research positions at Lund University, where decarbonization pathways for carbon-intensive industries were developed, and various roles at PBL and Utrecht University, contributing to decarbonization strategies and examining the long-term implications of actor behaviors on climate objectives. Mariësse earned a PhD in Integrated Assessment Modelling from Utrecht University in 2017, along with an MSc in Environmental Sciences and a BSc in Environmental Sciences.
