David McCormick

David McCormick has extensive experience in health, safety, and training management within the mining industry. Currently serving as the Health, Safety and Training Manager at Peabody Energy's Metropolitan Mine since August 2019, McCormick has held roles including Health, Safety and Training Superintendent and Continuous Improvement Manager in the company. Previous positions include Continuous Improvement Superintendent at Peabody Energy, Outbye Coordinator at Sparta Mining Services, Outbye Process Leader at Donaldson Coal, and Outbye Mechanical Engineer at Yancoal Australia Ltd. Additionally, McCormick was the Manager of Mining Services at Ellton Mine Services, specializing in conveyor equipment installations, and an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer at Walter Mining. McCormick is pursuing a Masters in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Wollongong, complementing a Graduate Certificate in the same field earned in 2022.
