Matthew Nugen

Matthew Nugen is an experienced government relations professional currently serving as Vice President of Government Relations for Peabody Energy since January 2022. Previously, Nugen held various leadership roles at WEC Energy Group, including Director of Local Government and Community Relations and Director of Federal Government Relations, where responsibilities encompassed managing legislative policy portfolios, lobbying efforts, and community engagement initiatives. Nugen also served as Senior Vice President at Ogilvy Government Relations and held significant roles in the political realm, including National Political Director for the 2008 Obama for America Presidential Campaign and Deputy Executive Director for the Democratic National Committee. Matthew Nugen earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
