Reinier Coetzee

Reinier Coetzee is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in technical services management and project engineering across various mining operations. Currently serving as Technical Services Manager at Peabody Energy since April 2022, responsibilities include leading a team in mine planning, enhancing productive capacity through technical innovation, and supporting operational governance. Previously, Reinier held similar managerial roles at Whitehaven Coal and BGC Contracting, overseeing mine planning processes, mentoring engineers, and ensuring operational efficiencies. Earlier positions at Arrium Mining, OneSteel, and Anglo Platinum contributed to a solid foundation in production engineering and project management. Reinier Coetzee holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering and a Diploma in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, as well as a Blasting Certificate from the Department of Minerals & Energy South Africa.
