Karla North

Karla North has extensive work experience in the field of IT and technology. Karla began their career as a Staff Accountant at Accounting Quest from 1994 to 1996 before moving on to The Business Office, where they held the same position from 1996 to 1998. Karla then joined Vulcan Inc. in 1998 and held various roles within the organization. Karla started as a Staff Accountant, where they were responsible for the data conversion and initial implementation of PeopleSoft financials. During this time, they developed an understanding of how integrated business systems can benefit a company. Karla then progressed to become the Director of Technology Business Applications, where they were responsible for expanding Vulcan's business systems from two primary applications to approximately 50. Karla focused on the implementation of PeopleSoft for both HR and Finance to support the company's growth. Later on, Karla became the Senior Director of Technology, leading the IT team and ensuring the operational stability of the technology infrastructure and enterprise software at Vulcan. Karla also took on the role of Senior Director of IT/Technology Operations, where they were accountable for all enterprise applications and technology services within the organization. In this role, they were responsible for selecting, implementing, and supporting various business systems for Vulcan. Their recent accomplishments include leading the implementation of a new IT Service Management system, a CRM implementation for Vulcan Arts & Entertainment, and establishing an IT Business Partner program. In 2020, Karla joined PEMCO as the Director of Enterprise Systems & IT PMO.

Karla North received their Associate's degree from Shoreline Community College between 1989 and 1991. Karla then pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Accounting at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business from 1992 to 1994. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Prosci Certified Change Practitioner certification from the institution Prosci in March 2019. In December 2011, they completed the Leading and Managing People Program at Wharton Executive Education. Lastly, in June 2001, they obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington.
