Dr. Torsten Stüber

Co-founder, Chief Technology Officer at Pendulum

Dr. Torsten Stüber has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Dr. Torsten is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Pendulum, a blockchain company focused on bridging fiat networks with decentralized finance. In this role, Dr. Stüber leads the research and technical development of the blockchain and manages the team responsible for its implementation. Prior to Pendulum, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at SatoshiPay, a Berlin-based payment platform. Dr. Torsten also worked at the Stellar Development Foundation as the Tech Lead for the Berlin Community Cluster. Additionally, Dr. Stüber has experience as a freelance web developer and has co-founded and held managing roles at Spreefang GmbH and Asuum. Dr. Torsten has also been involved in the startup tutoring and mentoring program at Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator. Dr. Stüber began their career as a researcher at TU Dresden.

Dr. Torsten Stüber has an extensive education history in the field of Computer Science. Dr. Torsten first attended Georg-Cantor-Gymnasium from 1994 to 2000 where they obtained their Abitur in Mathematik, Physik, and Englisch. Following this, from 2001 to 2006, they pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science at Technische Universität Dresden. During their studies, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at The University of Auckland in 2005, where they obtained another Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science. Later, Dr. Stüber continued their academic journey at Technische Universität Dresden from 2007 to 2011, where they successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.; in Germany: Dr. rer. nat.) in Computer Science. Notably, they obtained their Ph.D. in Computer Science from TU Dresden in February 2011.
