Ruchi Gupta

Vice President, Head of Research & Development at Pendulum

Ruchi Gupta has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ruchi currently holds the position of Vice President and Head of Research & Development at Pendulum Therapeutics, starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Johnson & Johnson as the Director of NeuroInflammation and Complement Biology from June 2021 to May 2022. From December 2018 to June 2021, Ruchi served as the Senior Associate Director of Liver Diseases at Gilead Sciences. Before that, they held the role of Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca for the entirety of 2018. Ruchi also has extensive experience at MedImmune, where they were the Team Lead Scientist for Cardiovascular Diseases from January 2015 to January 2018, and held the position of Scientist from October 2011 to December 2014. Additionally, Ruchi worked as a Scientist focusing on Neuroimmunology at Pfizer from March 2011 to September 2011. Ruchi also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller University from August 2008 to September 2011. Ruchi obtained their PhD in Chemistry with a GPA of 3.0 from Stony Brook University, where they completed their studies from December 2003 to May 2008. Ruchi also holds a Master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 2001.

Ruchi Gupta has a diverse education history. Ruchi began their academic journey by completing their Elementary and Middle school education at Rosary Sr. Sec. School from 1983 to 1996. In 1999, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St Stephen College. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Chemistry and Biophysics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 2001 to 2003. Following this, Ruchi Gupta attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur again from 2006 to 2008, where they completed their second Master's degree, this time in Chemistry. In terms of postdoctoral studies, Ruchi Gupta joined The Rockefeller University to conduct research on Biomedical Science, specifically focused on Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and diabetes.
