EVP, Supply Chain, Penguin Random House at Penguin Random House

Annette Danek-Akey has more than 25-years of experience in supply-chain management and industrial engineering, with strategic responsibility for warehousing and business-to-business customer relations. Annette’s responsibility includes more than 2.7 million square feet of Operations Center space in multiple locations, serving booksellers for Penguin Random House U.S., PRH Canada, DK U.S., Grupo Editorial U.S., and more than 40 third-party publishers. Annette manages the distribution, transportation, customer service, ebook billings, fulfillment systems, reverse logistics, and remainder sales for PRH to more than 30,000 locations. She is responsible for more than 1,700 employees, who ship an average of more than 1.5 million books per day. She is currently leading a cross-functional end-to-end supply-chain initiative with the global distribution and logistics leaders at PRH to create and leverage supply chain capabilities worldwide.

With a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Annette is recognized throughout the industry for her strategic knowledge and insight into supply-chain trends, as well as for her forward-thinking solutions mind-set. Annette attributes much of her success to her passion for developing, coaching, and cultivating new leaders.
