Scott Lucas has a strong background in HPC (High-Performance Computing) systems and Linux administration. Scott started their career as a Network Operations Supervisor at Brigham Young University in 1999, where they worked until 2005. Later, they were a Unix/Linux System Administrator at Flowserve, Inc. from 2005 to 2007. Scott then joined Idaho National Laboratory as an HPC Systems Administrator from 2007 to 2011. Scott briefly worked as an HPC Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2011. Scott then joined Westmark Credit Union as an IT Systems Specialist from 2012 to 2013.

Scott transitioned into the field of HPC systems integration at Dell Corporation in 2013, where they deployed HPC Linux clusters for various customers until 2016. Scott then worked as an HPC Applications/Systems Engineer at Mayo Clinic from 2016 to 2017, where they managed and configured user's jobs in the OGE/SGE scheduler. Currently, they are a Principal Engineer at Penguin Computing since May 2017. In this role, Scott administers, configures, and supports a machine learning cluster consisting mostly of Nvidia DGX systems. Scott also manages and troubleshoots user's jobs in SLURM and installs and supports various HPC applications and containers.

Scott Lucas obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies with a Management Emphasis from Brigham Young University between 1999 and 2004. Scott also attended Brigham Young University - Idaho, although specific details about their degree or field of study during this time are not provided.
