Jonathan Garcez

Jonathan Garcez, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Research Analyst (Subsurface) at Darcy Partners, providing technical guidance and market intelligence to the energy sector while leading technical sessions for over 70 clients. In addition, Garcez holds the position of Oil and Gas Research Analyst and Associate Research Fellow at Penn State University, contributing to the DOE-funded SMART initiative through reservoir simulations for CO2 injection and saline aquifer storage optimization, and presenting findings at major conferences. Previous roles include Doctoral Researcher focused on multi-fractured horizontal wells and Teaching Assistant mentoring senior students in capstone projects and reservoir simulation. Garcez's early experience includes a Reservoir Engineer Trainee position at Petrobras, where significant contributions to reservoir simulation and analysis were made. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Energy and Mineral Engineering from Penn State University and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
