Omid Harandi

Omid Harandi, PhD, is a seasoned expert in biotechnology, medicine, and healthcare, currently serving as a Consultant/Advisor since March 2020. Omid is also a member of both the Biotechnology and Technology Advisory Boards at Penn State University since October 2022. Previously, Omid held significant leadership roles, including Vice President and Head of Cell Therapy at SalioGen Therapeutics, and various director positions at Flagship Pioneering Labs, focusing on cell and gene therapies. Earlier experience includes positions as Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist at Rubius Therapeutics, as well as research fellowships at Harvard Medical School and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Omid earned a PhD in Genetics from Penn State University, with extensive research on stem cell biology and hematopoiesis, and has contributed to numerous advancements in cellular therapies and molecular medicine throughout a distinguished career.
