Similoluwa Aruwajoye

Similoluwa (Simi) Aruwajoye, MPH, is a predoctoral researcher at Penn State University since August 2023, currently pursuing a PhD in Ecology with a focus on infectious disease dynamics. Previously, Similoluwa served as an Epidemiologist II at the Texas Department of State Health Services from December 2020 to May 2023, leading the COVID Vaccine Breakthrough Team and overseeing case investigation efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional roles include staff epidemiologist at the Houston Health Department and an epidemiologist for the City of Austin. Similoluwa's experience extends internationally with a postgraduate internship in Epidemiology & Disease Surveillance at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from UT Health School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Louisiana Monroe.
