James Halsall

James Halsall began their work experience at Bitopia Ltd in 2008 as a Web Application Developer. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at Rippleffect as a Technical Team Lead, overseeing projects for clients such as Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC. During this time, they worked with technologies including PHP, JavaScript, and Magento. In 2016, Halsall joined Inviqa as a Senior Software Engineer and later became a Technical Team Lead. James led agile software development teams on multi-million pound projects for various companies, including Graze and PZ Cussons. James primarily utilized PHP, Go, and JavaScript (Node.js). Currently, Halsall holds the position of Principal Software Engineer at Penny Black since 2022.

James Halsall obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Liverpool, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, James has earned several certifications. James obtained the "Zend Certified PHP Engineer" certification from Zend by Rogue Wave Software in September 2017. Furthermore, in December 2014, they achieved the "Google Qualified Cloud Platform Developer" certification from Google. Most recently, James completed the "Learning Terraform" certification from LinkedIn in April 2022.
