Senior Analyst, Investments and Portfolio Optimization at Pennybacker Capital

Sam Nichols has a diverse work experience in the real estate and finance industry. Sam is currently working as a Senior Analyst for Investments and Portfolio Optimization at Pennybacker Capital since April 2022. Previously, they worked at JLL as a Real Estate Analyst from July 2019 to April 2022. At JLL, they focused on debt and equity placement as well as investment sales advisory. Before that, they also served as a Real Estate Analyst at HFF from June 2019 to April 2022. Prior to their roles in the real estate industry, they gained experience as a Spring Analyst at A.G. Hill Partners from January 2019 to May 2019. Sam also worked as a Sales and Leasing Agent at Dallas Apartment Locators from February 2018 to May 2019, and as a Summer Analyst in Asset Management & Acquisitions at Mitsui Fudosan America from June 2018 to August 2018. Additionally, they interned at JLL as part of their Capital Markets team from June 2017 to August 2017, and at Great Southern Bank as a Summer Analyst in Commercial Real Estate Lending from June 2016 to August 2016.

Sam Nichols received their Bachelor's degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University from 2015 to 2019. During that time, they also pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from the Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business. Before attending university, Sam attended Rockhurst High School until 2015.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Sam also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they earned the REFM Excel For Real Estate Certification Level I, II, & III from Real Estate Financial Modeling. In 2017, they completed the 2-day intensive ARGUS Enterprise Training from ARGUS Software. Furthermore, Sam holds a Texas Real Estate Salesperson License, which they obtained from the Texas Real Estate Commission in February 2018.
