Incident Response Head at Pentest People

Ian Nicholson has a long and varied career history. Ian began as an Engineering Apprentice at Ingersoll Rand in 1994. After a year in this role, they joined the Royal Navy as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in 1995. In 2006, they moved to the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service as a Firefighter. In 2019, they held two roles concurrently - Service Operations Manager at Home Office and Security Operations Center Analyst at Novacoast. In 2020, they became the Incident Response and Threat Intelligence Lead at BT, and in 2022 they took on the role of Incident Response Head at Pentest People.

Ian Nicholson has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Science in Networks and Security, which they obtained from The University of Bolton between 2016 and 2019. Ian also attended Royal Navy School of Engineering from 1995 to 1997, studying Aircraft Engineering. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including the Crest Approved Incident Responder from CREST in September 2022, the BCS Agile Foundation from QA Ltd in August 2019, the ITIL® 4 Foundation CPD from AXELOS in April 2019, Carbon Black Advanced Analyst from VMware Carbon Black, Carbon Black Response Analyst from Carbon Black, Inc., and Logrhythm Admin from LogRhythm.
