General Summary The Senior Fitness Center Attendant is responsible for the general supervision of the fitness center. The Senior Fitness Attendant is proactive in knowing which tasks must be done (and at what times) – acting independently and requiring little to no instruction. The attendant anticipates potential problems and takes steps to proactively resolve issues before they escalate. The Senior Fitness attendant takes risks in a calculated and thoughtful way, that is intended to advance creativity or innovation. This position requires a solution-oriented self-starter who keeps the big picture in mind as well as individual needs. The Fitness Attendant responsibilities of welcoming guests and working to ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable experience still hold true. Responsibility for maintaining the weights and cardiovascular fitness areas, as well as locker rooms, to make sure equipment is clean, functioning properly and used according to the rules of the facility, also holds true.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities •Welcome guests, as well as explaining programs and activities. * •Maintain attendance and use records, including class participation. * •Ensure rules and regulations are enforced by staff and gym-users. * •Report and resolve issues, contacting the appropriate personnel to resolve them. * (examples: janitorial, security, HVAC, IT or Comms) •Create, lead, promote, and support Fitness Center activities and programs, and organize special events for your location. •Perform Fitness Assessments and Equipment Orientations, as needed, and train other Fitness Attendants to perform them, teaching guests how to use the equipment, and providing basic fitness information. •Supervise the set-up, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment, technology, and locker rooms. * •Manage towel inventory and quality issues, equipment repairs, body wipes, class instructors and others. •Contact Supervisor, or above, to report issues. •Work with the Healthy Penumbra Team to make the Fitness Center and programming successful. •Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures. * •Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company. * •Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures. * •Perform other work-related duties as assigned. *Indicates an essential function of the role

Position Qualifications Minimum education and experience: •High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional qualifications: •First-Aid training and CPR/AED certification required •Certified Personal Trainer (highly recommended) •TRX certification preferred •Group exercise certification preferred •Ability to troubleshoot issues with fitness equipment and technology •Proven success in leading health and fitness initiatives and special events •Experience performing Fitness Assessments, Equipment Orientations, and prescribing basic workout programs based on client goals •Proficiency with standard office tools and Microsoft Office’s Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint desired •Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate with all employees, contractors, and suppliers •Strong ability to comprehend English language to understand information such as labels and instructions, receive job assignments and communicate progress and/or completion of assignment •Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously •Able to work independently, while effectively organizing and prioritizing their work, as well as coordinating the work of others, as needed •Ability to work a varied schedule, as needed, that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays •High degree of accuracy and attention to detail   Working Conditions •General office and gym environments •Willingness and ability to work on site. •May have business travel from 0% - 5% •Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens •Requires some lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds •Must be able to move between buildings and floors. •Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day. •Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets. •Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed. •Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.

Base Pay Range Per Hour:  $24.00 -$33.00 Individual compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, work location and shift, and will increase over time based on meeting performance and business needs.
