We have an opportunity for a talented and highly motivated scientific leader to join an exciting new business venture focused on applying the company’s proprietary gene silencing platform (GEiGS) to the development of novel human therapeutics.  

The GEiGS technology facilitates Stable, Tunable and Programmable silencing activity that differentiates it from alternative gene editing or gene regulation approaches, and specifically enables production of programmable, next-generation advanced therapies, addressing many current limitations. 

The appointee will be joining a multidisciplinary team of computational and experimental biologists. The post is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to be part of a cutting-edge research program that will also have real impact on patients’ lives. Due to the early stage nature of the company it is imperative to have a pragmatic, can-do, collaborative approach.  

Responsibilities 

  • Drives translational strategy across a range of therapeutic indications and target mechanisms, with an initial focus on oncology

  • Leads a team of expert biologists, along with external collaborations, that effectively support the development of GEiGS-enabled therapeutics to the clinic

  • Collaborates with Senior Management team, Bioinformatics and Research Operations functions to develop the strategic vision for product development

  • Communicates scientific progress to SMT and to internal and external audiences

Who You Are:  

  • Proven track record in driving programs from concept definition to completion of IND-enabling studies, ideally with experience in advanced therapy-based modalities/immuno-oncology
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing pre-clinical plans and effectively communicating with KOLs/SABs, clinicians, and regulatory authorities
  • Ability to resolve ambiguity and progress a portfolio of complex therapeutic concepts
  • A natural leader, able to galvanize collaborators, who thrives in a scientifically diverse, fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment
  • Prior experience in leading development of a novel therapeutic mechanism of action is considered a plus
  • Knowledge of in-vivo gene editing approaches would be advantageous

Qualifications / Profile 

  • Ph.D with extensive industry experience (Ph.D +10yrs).
  • Outstanding communication skills with proven ability to relay information effectively and efficiently, both to computational and experimental scientists
  • Team-orientation toward collaboration and mutual success
